Each year the Coastal Chamber Youth Ballet Company is proud to present San Luis Obispo County with an annual holiday production in Arroyo Grande’s beautiful state-of-the-art facility, the Clark Center for the Performing Arts. Your annual, tax-deductible gifts secure our ability to provide current and additional Coastal Chamber Youth ballet performances. Contributors will enjoy special benefits in addition to affording local youth opportunities to experience professional productions and the highest quality of arts education ~ an imperative element of healthy youth development that is being neglected by public educational systems. Coastal Chamber Youth Ballet shares a common understanding that the arts, such as dance, provide youth with a multitude of concurrent and life-long benefits. Due to recent economic constraints and the lack of instruction of the arts in educational systems, CCYB
affords local youth opportunities to experience professional productions and quality dance education.  CCYB also provides local schools exciting opportunities to immerse arts education into their curriculum by offering outreach programs, master classes, assemblies, and more.

Coastal Chamber Youth Ballet’s Story It was a dream of mine for many years to form a ballet company in the South County. To provide local dancers with the opportunity to be part of a company dedicated to technical training and professional caliber productions. The dream moved a step closer to reality when Coastal Dance and Music Academy moved to a new facility in February 2008 and Tara Behnke became co-owner and assistant director. With the addition of Molly McKiernan to our staff in July of the same year, the deal was cemented. We couldn’t have been more excited to embark on such an incredible adventure, and this past year has continued to be exciting and rewarding beyond measure. In 2010, Coastal Chamber Youth Ballet became a non-profit ballet company! Providing San Luis Obispo County youth the opportunity to participate in a professional level production is paramount. Equally important to us is providing educational experiences in the arts for our local schools in the form of assemblies, free dance classes and performances at the Clark Center to which local school children will be invited. In order that all children have equal access to the arts, we will provide scholarships to promising young artists and each year, open our Friday night dress rehearsal of Babes In Toyland free of charge to those families in our community who could otherwise not afford to attend, giving them the opportunity to experience a full-length production in a beautiful theater. It is our hope that Coastal Chamber Youth Ballet will be a positive, contributing and educational artistic force for many years to come. Contributors enjoy the following benefits: one free personal ad (due Nov. 15th) and recognition in our show programs and a VIP party with CCYB after the performance. In addition to the above: Guardians receive 2 tickets per year, Patrons receive 4 tickets per year plus a business link listed on the CCYB website.
